Spring General Conference

The Schwenkfelder congregations will gather for the Spring General Conference meeting at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center (105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg). All members of Central Schwenkfelder Church are invited to attend the meeting in person or virtually. Snacks and desserts will be provided. Candace Perry will be making a presentation - How the Pretzel Survived Prohibition (see below for details). Please join us!

How the Pretzel Survived Prohibition
Today pretzels are a beloved snack throughout North America. This wasn’t always the case, however. Pretzels were most commonly associated with saloons, and when Prohibition became the law of the land, pretzel bakers had to scramble to keep their businesses afloat.
